Former Global TV news anchor Marrett Green has created a news service for "responsible" pet owners after discovering how difficult it was to find a suite for himself and his Great Dane.

Green has created a new Web site, www.petsandapartments.com/, which enables tenants to register themselves and their pets, as well as their rental history.

His company, Pets 'N' Apartments Inc., will maintain the tenant's record and provide it to landlords on request wherever the tenant needs references before moving into a new suite.

Green told the Straight that members will receive coupons offering discounts for pet-oriented services and products.

Owners of apartment buildings and hotels that accept pets across North America may list their properties for free on this site.
